NEW FOR AUTUMN 2006 -

LIVE COACHING SUPERVISION GROUP – 6 monthly sessions.

Coaches, I’m already thinking about next season, about what I want to do locally in my work with coaches. As many of you know, I established CSA and my belief in Coaching Supervision is enormous. I’ve been supervising coaches now since 2000. All kinds of coaches – from those still in training to those who have very full practices often in complex contexts. I adore working with live coaching groups and know the huge benefits of a group which really works. CSA are already successfully running several live coaching groups in London and the S East. This one is for you! It will run in Hove/Brighton.

The group will begin in September for 6 monthly sessions and we will have 2½hours together every month to explore all aspects of your coaching practice. The group will combine Coaching Supervision, exploration and teaching on key coaching themes and will aim to mature your skills and extend the range of clients that you can work well with.

‘Supervision is what brings us home to our own mind and shows how good we may be.’ Nancy Kline

We will use CSA’s Full Spectrum Model which is unique in that it combines the classic 7- eyed model of Supervision with contemporary coaching tools and insights. We will address the following coaching themes and meta-skills as they emerge in sessions:

  • Building the Internal Supervisor,
  • Coaching Presence,
  • Using Gestalt Dialogue,
  • Magic box, Pendulum,
  • Practising contemplative feedback,
  • Working with the body,
  • Relationships between coach and client,
  • Coaching /counselling boundary,
  • Working with image and metaphor.
  • And more!

  • FORMAT: Our starting point will usually be with case studies or coaching themes which interest/concern you. I will work with the material presented and then the group will add their support/insight. I will teach a form of feedback which ensures that we are enabled (not disabled!) by feedback. As the group progresses, major coaching themes will emerge and there will be teaching and discussion on these.

What I want for you, is that being in the group will greatly extend your skills, competence and comfort zone. This is not a group for absolute beginners. (though if there is a group of you out there, please let me know and I’ll create something especially for you!). I am looking for coaches who have experience and who will bring client situations from their practice to the group.

“I used to think it was enough to speak with one of my coach buddies if I needed to de-brief from a coaching session to try and sort out what was not quite right. Having now worked with Edna Murdoch in formal coaching supervision, I have seen quite how wrong I was and that was really only a quick fix. Sharing the challenges that arise from a coaching session creates a huge amount of opportunity – not just to repair or grow the client relationship, but, more importantly for the future of that and any other relationship, grow the coach. Often coaches can work in isolation and skills and professional development can idle. Specific focussed attention through coaching supervision is not only one of the strongest coach development supports I know of, I think it’s also a mandatory part of a dedicated, professional coach’s portfolio.” Ginny Baillie MCC

If you are new to Coaching Supervision or have questions about the group, please call and we can have a chat. I want to ensure that this group is right for you and that you will really benefit from it.
