BEYOND MODELS

Deepening presence | Working with complexity | Meeting the world as it is

The world that many supervisors trained into has changed, and so has what coaches bring into supervision. AI, accelerating pace, economic pressure and uncertainty are shaping the supervisory field in new ways. Beyond Models is a two-stage deepening for experienced practitioners who want to meet contemporary supervision conversations with clarity, courage, and grounded presence.

WHO IT'S FOR

An invitation for experienced practitioners

A refreshed supervisory stance for today's conditions — practical, relational, and ethical

Thoughtful engagement with AI and the supervisory relationship

Greater confidence in working with uncertainty, acceleration, and complexity

Working with the living field of supervision: systems, presence, emergence, resonance, rupture and repair

Rich peer inquiry with supervisors who share the CSA ethos

"Live edges" you'll take forward: important questions from your current practice, explored deeply

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

An oasis to restore and nourish how you show up, a facilitated inquiry that strengthens discernment, relational capacity, and integration back into practice.

For many of us, the work is moving beyond techniques and models into something more subtle, the quality of our presence, and what becomes possible in the space between us. In a changed world, supervision is being asked to hold more complexity, more ambiguity, and more humanity. Beyond Models is a carefully facilitated invitation to slow down, listen well, and explore what is emerging and what you want to take back into your practice.

Who you are is how you supervise®.

CSA - the Supervision Specialists

WHY NOW?

The landscape has shifted

Many supervisors established their practice in a different world. Our intention is to offer a carefully facilitated space to meet these realities directly, with peers who share the CSA ethos, supported by a Senior Faculty team.

Economic pressure, organisational contraction, and increased stress

Geopolitical uncertainty and societal polarisation

Will Medd

  • About Will...

Will is increasingly 'bothered' by the proliferation of models in the coaching world that create a pressure to know this or that, and overlook the beautiful simplicity of a curiosity that comes from a place of not knowing. He's most curious about the depth of intimacy, spacious insight and creativity that emerges, in one-to-one or in groups, when we allow space to be with the effervescent aliveness of the unknown.

Will entered the coaching/supervision field in 2009 and gained CSA accreditation in 2017. A valued member of our Faculty, he has taught as both Tutor and Facilitator, and has led the UK programme as Lead Facilitator since UK18.

"I see my supervision as holding a space in which a coach or supervisor can explore, examine, play, experiment with and indeed let go of, who they are as a coach, what that means for the relationships they form and the energy they offer with their clients."

With Will you'll experience challenge, provocation, fun, warmth, compassion, emotion, relationship and more all in service of the work you offer.

Hi I'm Claire, I run Zen Supervision for coaches and change agents, Contemporary Spirituality Programme, Writer, Retreat Leader

I try to practice simplicity and directness in a complex world. i am interested in conversation that illuminates, deepens and delights. Zen is a profoundly practical philosophy for me. i like to create forms for conversation and support that reflect the individuals i am working with, rather than my own preferences. I feel that Supervision is the conversation for our age and that is why i trained with CSA.
