Supervision Groups for Coaches working with ADHD clients

with CSA Accredited Supervisor Kathryn Pope.

The last few years has seen a massive increase in the awareness of neurodiversity, in particular ADHD. Many coaches are now working with people with ADHD: Some were diagnosed in childhood, many only recently diagnosed as adults. Even more realise they have many ADHD traits that are impacting their lives. Many inform their organisations they have ADHD, many do not, for a variety of reasons.

ADHD-specific coach training has been historically scarce. The most established ones are USA based, where ADHD has long been recognised. Although the awareness is growing fast, the training is still fairly limited, and of variable quality.

As coaches we will all come across ADHD clients, whether we know it or not. Having spoken about ADHD coaching with many coaches, I recognise the demand for spaces to discuss, explore and learn together to better serve ADHD clients. To that end, I am stepping up to offer various options for coaches to do this.

Who are you when coaching ADHD clients? How comfortable are you coaching here? What assumptions do you have? What do you need to be aware of? What worries, excites you? How safe are you coaching? What principles do you hold specifically for ADHD clients?

This is a group where coaches (ADHD trained or not) who are coaching clients with ADHD can come to explore, discuss, learn and listen, to ensure that we all offer the best coaching experience we can for clients with ADHD.

Kathryn Pope

KP is a highly experienced executive and team coach with over 25 years’ standing. Deeply curious, she has an eclectic and extensive coaching toolkit including accreditations in Resilience, NLP, Transformational presence, Somatic, Embodiment and many more.

She has been a CSA accredited Coach Supervisor for nearly 15 years offering 1-to-1 and Group supervision, for both independent coaches and for internal coaches within corporates.

She’s had a personal and professional interest in neurodiversity throughout her career, with a particular focus on ADHD. In 2018 her husband (52) and middle child (18) were both diagnosed, which led her to dive even more deeply into ADHD. Subsequently her youngest, and in 2025 her eldest, children were also diagnosed. This has helped her make sense of much of her life.

She has worked with very many leaders with ADHD over the last decade. Whether they were diagnosed (in childhood, or later as an adult) or suspected, and whether they have disclosed it with their business, or not.

In 2024, after a significant amount of research on reputable programmes, she embarked on the USA-based ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA) ADHD Advanced Coach training programme.

18 months later, with over 120 hours live training, many client recordings, detailed assessments, stimulating one-to-one and group mentoring’s, a lively learning-set trio meeting weekly, extensive reading and written client case studies, she completed Nov 2025.

She is currently applying for the Professional Association of ADHD Coaches (PAAC – the professional ADHD coaching body) credential at the PCC equivalent level.

She is still learning everyday about coaching people with ADHD.
